How Is Tampa Bay Marketed to the World?

Explore all conference sessions, including keynote talks, panels, and discussions across all tracks and topics.”

When an international company considers entering the United States, expanding into Florida, or choosing a location for its next investment, what does it hear about Tampa Bay?

This session explores how Florida and the Tampa Bay region are positioned, promoted, and presented to international businesses and investors competing for opportunities across a global marketplace.

Leaders from SelectFlorida, the Florida Council of 100, and Global Tampa Bay will discuss the messages used to differentiate Florida and Tampa Bay, the attributes international companies are looking for when evaluating U.S. markets, and how economic development organizations translate the region’s strengths into a compelling global value proposition.

The conversation will look beyond traditional promotion to examine how perceptions of Tampa Bay are formed—from business climate, talent and infrastructure to quality of life, connectivity, innovation, and access to international markets. Panelists will also discuss the partnerships, international missions, business relationships, and other channels used to put Tampa Bay in front of decision-makers around the world.

Ultimately, the session asks an important question for the region’s future: What does Tampa Bay need to be known for internationally, and how do we make that story resonate in an increasingly competitive global marketplace?
