
Bessie Skoures serves as Assistant Vice President for Global Outreach, Communications, and Philanthropy at USF World, where she helps advance the University of South Florida’s international engagement, global partnerships, and outreach efforts.
Her career spans higher education, international affairs, communications, and public service. At USF, she previously served as Associate Director of Outreach for the Patel College of Global Sustainability, overseeing marketing, communications, and educational initiatives with both local and international reach. She began her USF career as Special Assistant to the Honorable Betty Castor at the Patel Center for Global Solutions and has also served as an adjunct instructor.
Prior to USF, Skoures worked with the Council on Foreign Relations in New York and Human Rights Watch in New York and Brussels. She is a member of the Tampa Bay Area Committee on Foreign Relations and brings extensive experience connecting education, international affairs, and community engagement.
Skoures holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan and an M.A. from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. She is fluent in Greek and French and resides in the Tampa Bay area.
