When a major storm passes, communities face the complex work of restoring essential services, reopening businesses, repairing infrastructure, and helping residents return to their daily lives. This session will explore how government, business, nonprofit, and community leaders can coordinate an effective recovery while reducing the economic and social disruption caused by disasters. Drawing on lessons from Florida and other storm-affected regions, the discussion will examine disaster-response coordination, business continuity, infrastructure restoration, access to recovery resources, and strategies for rebuilding stronger and better prepared for the future.
