For 60 years, Tampa and Barranquilla have built a relationship rooted in friendship, exchange, and shared opportunity.
Barranquilla 60 will celebrate the six-decade Sister City relationship between the two communities by reflecting on the people, programs, delegations, and exchanges that have helped bring Tampa and Barranquilla closer together.
The session will highlight key moments from the partnership’s history and explore how cultural exchange, education, business relationships, civic engagement, and personal connections have strengthened both cities over time. Rather than looking at the anniversary only as a milestone, the conversation will use the past 60 years as a foundation for discussing what the relationship can become next.
As part of the session, the mayors of Tampa and Barranquilla are expected to reaffirm the Sister City relationship, recognizing both the history of the partnership and a shared commitment to its future.
